Who is counselling for?

Hi, I am Susie, a Christian counsellor and Trauma therapist in London.

Anyone who feels they are struggling with life would benefit from counselling.

I offer clients unconditional positive regard, meaning I automatically hold them in high respect, and I am completely non-judgemental.

I help clients identify and address presenting as well as underlying issues through empathic exploration, with psychodynamic insight, as well as using somatic techniques and working with neuroplasticity.

I am also trained in Somatic Experiencing. I am also qualified as a Clinical Trauma Professional. Below is a talk recorded on April 24th 2022, when Tosin Adio asked me to speak online to her international ladies' Christian fellowship group on Trauma and Abuse.

Susie’s Blog

When addressing the impact of trauma with clients, working explicitly with the neuroplasticity is key. Trauma neurological networks are held in the hippocampus in the limbic system.

Sensorimotor Psychotherapy is the work of Pat Ogden. This approach entails working with the body and drawing awareness to physical boundaries and space, as well as body language and expression including but not exclusively posture and gesture.

Testimonials

"Susie was recommended to me at the point of burnout, and after a sabbatical left me feeling not much better. Susie gently, wisely, patiently and kindly talked and walked me through underlying and longer term issues of feeling easily overwhelmed, despondency and a skewed understanding of Jesus view of me. I am so grateful for her deeply rooted Christian perspective, her practical advice and wisdom and for significantly helping to shift my thinking, feeling and acting. I shall definitely be recommending Susie to others."

"Bless the Lord for Susie’s skill in helping our marriage. She created a really safe and collaborative environment for us to be honest with ourselves and each other. She has strong skills to bring issues to scripture and help us see the Lord's beautiful plan for marriage.

Thank you so much. Praise God that you use the gifts he's given to you so well."

"I sought out a Christian therapist to work through my trauma with, and Susie was the perfect fit. I have gained insight and tools on how to navigate different aspects of my life. From the very first session, I felt a genuine connection with Susie. Her empathy, understanding, and non- judgemental approach created a safe space for me to explore my thoughts and emotions.

If you are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and faith-based therapist,
I wholeheartedly recommend Susie."
